Welcome to St. Theresa’s!
See what love God the Father has for us, that we should be called children of God. For indeed that is what we are. (1 Jn. 3, 1).
If our website is your first experience of St. Theresa’s parish, if you are new to our community, if you have been here for a while and are now exploring what and when things go on in your parish, if you are a long time parishioner; on behalf of our parish team, and our parish faith community, I welcome you.
St. Theresa’s Catholic parish in the heart of Millwoods celebrated her thirtieth anniversary on October 01, 2011 on the feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, our patroness. Our community is arguably the largest, one of the busiest and one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse Catholic communities in the Archdiocese of Edmonton, yet many many families feel a strong sense of belonging and community here. A true sign that the Holy Spirit is hard at work in our faith community. This website is a vehicle for you to glimpse some of the activities, ministries and social events that make up a community that celebrates seven Sunday Masses on the weekend and is a beehive of activity during the week. However, you can always stop in and find a quiet place to pray in our Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
We are a stewardship parish and we believe that all we have (our time, our talents, and our treasure) is truly a gift from God. We offer a full range of opportunities for you to grow in yours and your family’s spiritual journey, far too many to name in a welcome greeting. I do encourage you to browse our website to see what is offered at St. Theresa and more importantly I invite you to become part of our worship community.
You know, our faith is absolutely one of the greatest gifts our loving God has blessed us with. Why? Because we are all His children and He desires to be in relationship with us, here in the world and for eternity with Him in heaven. Once again, if you are new to the area, new to the parish, if you have been part of our community for many years, all are welcome at St. Theresa’s parish.
I invite and encourage you to take the steps that will allow you to embrace and be embraced by our wonderful and thriving faith community here at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. If you have questions, please explore our website, call the parish (780-463-8646), attend a Sunday celebration and grab a bulletin. We are blessed here at St. Theresa’s, and we invite you to share in those blessings with us.
With thanks, a warm welcome and God’s bountiful blessings,
Your brother in Christ,
Fr. Jim Corrigan, Pastor
